Senior Software Engineer at Matter Labs
Matter Labs is a company that creates layer-2 scaling solutions for Ethereum using zero-knowledge proofs. My work focus on researching and implementing consensus algorithms.
January 2020 - March 2022
Lead Blockchain Researcher at Nimiq
Nimiq is a blockchain for payments that focuses in simplicity and accessibility. As the Lead Blockchain Researcher I was in charge of developing new technologies to improve the Nimiq blockchain and ecosystem. Some of my contributions at Nimiq were:
- Improving the design of the Albatross consensus algorithm, with a special focus on reducing syncing times and increasing the blockchain’s resiliency.
- Being the top contributor to the implementation of the Nimiq 2.0 blockchain, which uses the Albatross consensus algorithm to drastically improve the throughput and latency of the Nimiq blockchain.
- Researching and implementing from scratch the Nimiq 2.0 nano nodes, which are a type of light client that uses recursive zero-knowledge proofs to be able to sync in under a second.

Chief Research Officer at Trinkler Software
Trinkler Software was a software company focused on cryptocurrency research and applications based in Switzerland. The research that I created during that time include Katal, a blockchain designed for deploying and running decentralized finance applications, and Albatross, a novel proof-of-stake consensus algorithm with a performance close to the theoretical maximum for single-chain consensus algorithms.
